In continuation of its efforts to stay competitive in the academia holistically, the ISP (Institute of Southern Punjab, Multan) has been continuously trying to improve all its activities in both teaching and research at advanced level. With this vision in view, the Faculty of Humanities has chosen to launch its new journal called South Punjab Journal of Linguistics and Literature (SPJOLL) to promote research in the broader field of linguistics, literature and communication in general with particular focus on the linguistic and cultural landscape of South Asia.

Guidelines for Authors

The South Punjab Journal of Linguistics and Literature strictly believing in the quality of research acceptable internationally, expects the prospective authors of research papers in the fields of both linguistics and literature to ensure standards of appropriateness described succinctly as under in their publication.

  1. Conceptually, the study is supposed to be original, not a replica of previous research in any way.
  2. Linguistically, the research carried out is expected to be documented in the academic language making full use of the terminology relevant to its field of investigation.
  3. The title of the research paper should fully match with the theme of the paper.
  4. Methodologically, the study must have an explicit theoretical underpinning to suggest improvement in the existing state of knowledge for the relevant field. The analytical framework adopted for the analysis of data must hinge on the theory adopted for investigation.
  5. Structurally, the study should be reported logically, starting with a concise abstract of approximately within 250-300 words followed by a fit introduction to the study linked with the description of the study explaining all aspects of the data-its nature, method of collection, analysis, interpretation, findings and, a conclusion supported by an up-to-date reference list to make the description organically, unified and coherent according to the latest, standard and uniform referencing style following the latest version of the APA. The length of research paper can be 5000-8000 words. The authors are supposed to send plagiarism free manuscripts ensuring its check themselves by turnitin.
  6. The SPJOLL presumes that the papers submitted are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  7. The SPJOLL accepts new publications for review requiring the publisher to send two copies for this purpose.
